Chapter 16: Zlatko
This is yet another Kara chapter with multiple branches and endings. Open the iron gate and walk up to the door. After ringing the doorbell twice, a man answers the door and eventually lets you inside. Follow him into the living room area and you will meet Luther. After a conversation on the couch, follow Zlatko to the basement. You have a choice option with Alice as you walk down to it. Stay with Alice and you will unlock something at a cell door. Then, go into Zlatko's basement room.
Stand on the pad in the room and Zlatko quickly reveals his true intentions. He wipes Kara's memory, and there is nothing you can do about it besides look around the room with the right joystick. There are two choices here -- Kara can get reset or she can't. For the reset path, Kara is freed from her restraints. Walk to the previous corridor in the basement and look through the same cell door that Alice looked through as you were going down. Then, look in the other cell door to see a hand stretch out for you. Open the cell door and you will find other androids.
Now walk down the hall and up the stairs to reach the first floor of thehouse. Here, scan the room with R2 and look at all the objects you can interact with. Start with the mirror to the left, and then the bookshelf, and then the front door, and then the mirror to the right of the front door. Interacting with some of these objects will slowly get back Kara's memory.
Head to the living room now and walk to the back side. You can go out the back door, but you are stopped by the new programming. Go back to Luther in the front of the living room and press L1 to look first, which will trigger a memory. Then, grab the tray on the table and carry it to the second floor of the house. Go inside the open room with Zlatko and set the food on the table. This triggers a memory from Stormy Night.
Take the torso of the android on the ground near Zlatko. When you do that, a timer of 10 minutes starts. If you simply wait the whole time, you get a bad ending where Alice gets worked on. I do not suggest this ending for a first playthrough though, so take the half android to the instructed room and read the ra9 words on the wall. This unlocks a new objective: find Alice.
Look around the room and you will find a giant animal, whose cage you can unlock if you want. Go to the far side of the room and head into the brown door. This is a bathroom where you will find an android in the tub. Interact with the android, and you have four choices. If you want to keep everyone alive, do not hurt him. Instead, go to the room to the left of the tub. Now go back and open the cage. The animal does not come out, but it unlocks him later.
Go through the other door in this room to reach the corridor. Walk down to find Luther, who expresses remorse for Alice. Go into the door next to him and read the magazine on the table. Inspect the shotgun next to the bed, but it is not loaded. Go through the door on the right and check the fireplace in the room. After that, turn on the television in the corner of the room. This will collect enough memories, and you can unlock another bad ending if you wait for time to run out with your memories.
Head back to the corridor and enter the last door at the end of the hall to find Alice. Leave the room, then peak around the corner. Go into the side room and you will have 20 seconds to hide. Pick the closet in the room and eventually Luther finds you. Follow the QTE prompts, then choose to go out to the corridor to find Zlatko with a gun. If you fail the QTEs and end up in the bathroom, you can get a bad ending in which Kara gets killed in the bathroom.
Otherwise, open the door to the storage and hide under the table. Zlatko comes in,a nd while he is looking away, go from table to table. If they find you here and you fail QTEs, you get the die in the storage room ending.
For the best ending, go into the big room and use a log in the fireplace to light a fire. Then, go into the bedroom on the opposite side of the room and back out to the corridor. Out here, go down the stairs and choose the backdoor. Throw stuff in Luther's way, then go out the back door. Outside, there will be a turn of events and Luther will turn on his master and become your ally. This is the best ending as you get another android to help Kara and Alice flee.
